In the Garden — November 2026
Vegetable Beds: Harvest remaining greens and root crops. Sow cover crops like clover or rye to protect soil through winter.
Flowers & Shrubs: Plant tulips, daffodils, and other spring bulbs if not already done. Cut back perennials after frost, leaving seed heads of coneflowers.
General Care: Layer compost or leaf mold and mulch over garden beds to feed soil life all winter. Clean tools and store them sharp and oiled for spring.
The Spider is November’s weaver. In folklore, spiders were symbols of fate and creativity. In gardens, they are guardians — quietly trapping flies, gnats, and moths in their silken webs. Leaving leaf litter and a few brushy corners gives spiders a safe winter haven.
Garden Trick: Rake leaves into garden beds or use them as mulch rather than discarding. They shelter beneficial insects, including spiders and pollinators, while breaking down into rich organic matter.
Full Moon — November 24, 2026 (Beaver Moon). This moon evokes preparation, work and shelter as gardens shift toward winter rest.
