In a classic neighborhood, this young family wanted a landscape that could entertain friends while giving their children room to play. The design blends timeless cottage charm with modern function—layered plantings and flowering trees in the front, a welcoming stone terrace for gatherings, and a generous lawn framed by evergreens in the back. The result is a garden that feels rooted and graceful, yet full of life and possibility.

We looked to the woodland cottage style for inspiration—layered plantings, flowering trees, and the kind of garden that feels like it’s been there for generations. In the front, classic curb appeal takes shape with soft sweeps of hydrangeas, cheerful perennials, and a flowering understory tree that greets visitors with seasonal charm.
